verb: im·pro·vise \ˈim-prÉ™-ËŒvÄ«z also ËŒim-prÉ™-ˈ\
Improvise - to make or create (something) by using whatever is available; to make, invent or arrange offhand.
This is the OFFICIAL definition. In our house, it means to roll the dice and hope something good shakes out. This is exactly what I did with The Bogus Room. Rolled the dice...
The Bogus Room? This room, remember? This SPACE, this THORN!
I don't know why I've let this space get under my skin so much. It is an odd-shaped room, and normally, I would embrace the challenge of trying to decorate it. Not this time. But, I felt I needed to do something with it, anything with it. I don't like empty rooms! And I currently have TWO! While tooling around buying groceries in Target the other day, I had a vision (uh oh -- guess you are hoping I went back to the eye doctor), an epiphany, if you will. I decided to stop fighting the room and give in to a more unusual style, rather than trying to make "the usual" fit in this awkward space.
Below are a few teaser photos.
I will take photos of the entire room and post them later this week.
I still have a few odds and ends to figure out for this room, but it is mostly done.
Improvising all along the way.
I suppose this is where I should say that I'm not good at improvising.
What do you do with a room you don't know what to do with?
I would not know where to start with such a large space. I do love the sneak peeks!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is actually quite small, with alot of doors. That's why it has been such a dilemma for me! :-)
