Clearing The Table...

I bought a decaffeinated coffee table, you can't even see the difference. - Unknown Author

Since Easter is officially over, I really didn't need my Easter vignette hanging around.  It was time to "clear the table."

The options for coffee table decorating can be a bit overwhelming, at least it is for me.  I decided on a simple arrangement.  But it didn't turn out to be so simple.  I had a mess everywhere for a day or so as I tried to decide on how I wanted the table to look for the next week...errr, ah, few months.

I don't think I change things up enough.  My husband thinks it is too much and is always asking, "where did (insert any object name here) go?"  It seems that men do not fully understand our incessant need for change in the house.  He maintains that if you put something somewhere, you should at least enjoy it in that spot for the next 10 to 15 years.  ~Shaking head.

Anyhow, I finally made a decision.

I pulled a couple of things from the kitchen...

a few books from another vignette...

the broken - now repaired tray...

and of course, the silver treasure that I recently purchased...

Not bad for shopping around the house.  The hubby was happy!

The Armillary sphere and papier-mâché pear came from...let's say it together...HOBBY LOBBY.

By the way, I attempted another craft project.  You MUST come back to see how that turned out! ;-)

Have a great day!

  1. Love the tray vignette...I am trying to keep mine corralled in a tray for easy removal and just love the simplistic beauty....

    1. Shirley, thank you so much! It seems that if things are in a tray they are easier to move around and change out. Have a great evening!

    1. Thank you Deb! And I agree...but then when you move something from one place, you have to find something to fill the empty space left behind. I feel like a dog chasing it's tail sometimes...LOL Have a great day!!

  3. Very nice! I just love old books.

It takes me awhile to figure out what I want too. Once I finally nail it, it rarely changes, but until that point it can change daily.
