Life Hacks #8

Can you believe we are already into March??!! And into the Lenten season??!!  Time is zooming right on by!
As silly as it sounds, I've already been doing some Christmas shopping.  I've found some great sales and am putting things away to avoid the "Christmas rush".  I'm also making book clocks and soaps to give as gifts.  I'm trying to be better prepared for the holidays!

Speaking of better prepared...to get wrinkles out of your clothing, toss a few wrinkled items into the dryer along with an ice cube.  Turn the dryer heat to hot and let things tumble for a few minutes.
The ice turns to steam which in turn steams the wrinkles out of your clothing.

To undo that major screw-up that just happened on your computer, hit CTRL Z...
...the action is undone.  Wouldn't it be great if it worked in real life?!?

To protect the blade on your razor while traveling, cover it in hot glue and let dry before packing.
When you arrive at your destination and are ready to shave, CAREFULLY peel off the dried glue.

Are you sometimes irritable, angry or depressed in the morning?
Eat a banana...they are known as the happy fruit!

Use shower caps to cover the bottoms of your shoes prior to packing them in your suitcase.
Your clothes will be protected from dirty shoes.  We do this all the time when we travel.

Fun Fact:  American quarters stamped 1965 and older are now worth $4.20.

Happy Friday!

    1. I’m so glad you like them. I like the ice cube in the dryer also and am going to have to give that one a try. We do the shower cap thing all the time. You can get them really cheap at the dollar store. I am going to try the razor/hot glue deal the next time we go out-of-town! Love and hugs!

  4. Great life hacks Benita. I have taken a wet washcloth before and tossed in dryer. Might just try an ice cube now. I would have never thought about using a shower cap to cover bottoms of shoes with when packing! GREAT IDEA! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    1. Thank you ma’am. I’ve done the damp washcloth before also but am going to try the ice. We love using the shower caps on our shoes…travel shoe covers are so expensive and these will last a pretty good while. I buy packs from the dollar store! Glad you are finally feeling some better! Love and hugs!

    1. I buy packs from the dollar store. They last a pretty good while. My high heels poke holes in them and I have to throw them out, but at $1.00 for 15 of them, I think I can swing it! Love and hugs!

  8. Ok I know a lot, but I never knew any of this stuff!
I always wanted to make soap but never understood that you have to buy soap to make soap. However, I would love to get my hands on some homemade soap. I have never tried any.

    1. LOL…I thought I knew a lot also until I started looking up these hacks!

I know it sounds weird to buy soap to make soap, but I don’t like messing with lye. It is super easy to make and it makes your skin feel so good because it doesn’t have all the chemicals in it. I like the goat milk soap base the best.

    1. The goat milk is wonderful! I'm sending a few bars to Lisa on Monday. Give me your address (via email of course 😊) and I will send you a couple of bars to see if you like it. Everyone has loved what I’ve given them, especially the Honey Almond Oatmeal. They also loved the peppermint and lavender. Love and hugs!

  10. Great hacks! I'm always in a good mood in the morning, though sometimes it goes down from there... but I have been making an all natural banana ice cream for a while now :-)
