Bookmarks for Spring...

Happy Sunday everyone!  I want to thank you for stopping by for the monthly 10 on the Tenth blog hop.  Our theme this month is Spring!  I love being a part of this creative group and I know you will find something adorable on each of their blogs!  I certainly did!

I don't know about you, but I'm always looking for gifts for friends and family members...for birthdays or Mother's Day or Christmas or just because.  When I ran across these cute bookmarks I knew I had to make some for gifts!   Since everyone seems to be waiting for spring to arrive I decided to create these bookmarks with spring colors in mind.  While I know that most people have moved to electronic devices for book reading, I still know a handful (me included) who love to hold an actual book while reading.  I love the smell of the paper and the sound of a page turning in my hand.

The supplies you will need for this project are:

Velvet ribbon
Scissors
Needle-nose pliers
20mm Ribbon clamps
Jewelry piece of your choice

I measured each ribbon at 9 inches and cut straight across.

I added a ribbon clamp to each end and used the needle-nose pliers to tighten it down.

After adding the ribbon clamp, I added my jewel piece.  I purchased my pieces to match the ribbon I chose, but you can use a contrasting color as well.

The creative design is all yours!  It took less than 20 minutes for each of these bookmarks.  They are so easy to make, cost under $10.00 and are just too cute.

They are going to make great gifts for my special book readers.  Don't be surprised if you see these around Christmas with red and green velvet ribbon!

Please make sure you stop by the other blogs...I've added their links below!  You won't be disappointed!

    1. Tammy, thank you so much! I like the vintage look also…I opted for vintage looking jewelry pieces so they wouldn’t have that “brand new” look to them. You are welcome and thank you so much for participating! Have a great day! Hugs!

    1. Oh Hollie, yes they would be perfect for that! They are super easy. I found the ribbon clamps in the jewelry area of Hobby Lobby. They have different sizes. I used the 20mm for this ribbon. Thank you so much! Love and hugs to you!

  13. Benita, these bookmarks are so pretty. As an avid reader, I really appreciate something other than a piece of paper to hold my place. And what a special gift to give another reader. Pretty and practical. Thanks for being hostess this month.
