While at HomeGoods, I found this adorable vintage-looking laundry basket on wheels.
No, it does not sit in the living room. I just didn't want to have an uninspiring photo of the laundry room. Our laundry room has horrible lighting (fluorescent bulbs). Also, it is very narrow and is not conducive to picture-taking. I wheeled it into the living room for the photo shoot and then put it back where it belongs.
I really do like using rustic-looking pieces throughout the house. While our rental is very modern, I think the vintage-rustic-looking pieces tone down the modern look. And this laundry basket is not only vintage looking, but functional, another one of those "two-fers"!
I found the large "All You Need Is Love and The Beach" pillow at HomeGoods also. The striped pillow is a flea market find.
The pillows actually go on the sofa. Photos of the laundry basket seemed to look better with something actually IN the basket. I didn't want you to see all the dirty laundry ('cuz that is TMI) so I grabbed pillows off the sofa. You all know what I mean -- styling photos! :-)
I seem to go in cycles. One week at Hobby Lobby, one week at HomeGoods, one week at Michaels. I don't always make purchases, but I do like looking around for ideas and different ways to repurpose things I already have. When I'm window shopping, I get lots of exercise and it gets me away from the computer...for hours. See, another "two-fer".
While I'm posting a few photos, I thought I would share the look of the twig basket on the front door.
I had to opt for faux flowers in this basket.
I do not have a covered porch so whatever I hang on the door takes a beating from the weather. When you are standing across the street, standing on one leg, with one eye shut, they look real!
Happy Monday!

Love the basket wherever it is. The faux flowers in the basket on the front door made me look closely to see if they were real. When you have to look more than once or more closely, then they pass the test.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being featured at Karen's Up On the Hill.

Thank you so much Judith! I appreciate it!
DeleteI always worry about using faux flowers because of how they look. I want them to look real since I can't use real ones. I'm glad they pass the test. When driving up to the house, you can't really tell, it is only when you get up close to them you can see they are not real. Have a wonderful day!
Love both baskets Benita! Home Goods is my downfall, I recently went there 3 times in 2 days, terrible!!!

Thank you Jenna! It is mine also. Thank you for telling me that, because I feel like I'm the only one who visits that often sometimes! When we first moved into this house and were trying to get things settled, I felt like I was in there 5 times a day. The bad thing, is that it is 5 minutes from my house...way too convenient! Have a great day! :-)
DeleteI love both baskets. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteThank you Su! I'm enjoying both of them! :-) Have a wonderful day! Hugs!
Deleteoh wow, I LOVE this laundry basket on wheels! We don't have a Home Goods nearby, and all these wonderful goodies make me so envious!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra! I would have withdrawals and have to be taken to the hospital if I did not live near a HomeGoods. Most stores you can go online and order things if one isn’t nearby, but HomeGoods is a “purchase in the store only” kind of place. Let’s hope they open one near you soon! :-) Have a great evening!
DeleteI absolutely love this laundry basket! It's very decor steals!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love it also. It has added such a nice touch to my boring laundry room!
DeleteGosh I wish we lived closer to each other! You and I would make good shopping buddies - we love the smae stores! This laundry basket is so perfect. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteDebi, I feel the same way…we would have a blast!! We move every few years for our business, so who knows, I may be your neighbor one day! :-D Thank you so much! I love yours as well….so elegant and gorgeous! A teacup! Hugs!!
