I have a 5-year-old granddaughter, Gianna, who lives in Jacksonville, FL.
She uses the words "actually" and "practically" in conversation and knows what they mean. We Skype about once a week and talk several times a week. I'm her "Bebe". When I visit, we run around the house playing "get me", play dance games on her Wii and jump on the trampoline. I also spend time playing "Bebe, watch me".
She's a fashionista and a diva with her own little style and personality. Sometimes, she will not wear her tennis shoes to school because they don't match her outfit.
She loves getting a "mani/pedi". I didn't even know what these were until I was about 28 years old. They start so young these days...LOL.
Gianna also loves playing softball. Her Bebe stays far away from anything that might have nail breakage involved.
My son was passionate about baseball when he was growing up and has passed his knowledge of the game down to Gianna. She is determined and seems to have a head for the game.
My son helps coach these little girls and has even had to use a famous movie line, "ARE YOU CRYING? There’s no crying. There’s no crying in baseball." Which caused them all to cry more...LOL.
Last night was the last game of their season. The good news is that she made the All Star team! :-)

You describe her to the "T"!!
ReplyDeleteLittle Diva for sure!
DeleteHow cute is she?!!!! What a sweetie. I love when girls play softball. I have two daughters and both of them loved being in softball and my hubby loved coaching their teams. I hope my granddaughter will like it too when she is a wee bit older. Love that line Tom Hanks said in that movie. Such a great movie.
ReplyDeleteKris
Thank you Kris, she is sweet and we love her so! I enjoy watching all little league ball. Both of my boys played. The little kids are so cute to watch! I think it is hilarious -- it was a great movie! Thanks so much and have a great evening!
DeleteI am a grandma and these are the BEST kinds of posts :)

DeleteShe is adorable.... the best of both worlds.... a soft-ball playing diva.
ReplyDeleteJudith
Thank you Judith! And yes…a girly girl who likes to play sports! :-)
DeleteWhat a doll baby, that granddaughter of yours. My husband played baseball from a wee thing. He would get the biggest thrill out of a granddaughter playing the best game on earth.
ReplyDeleteDayle, thank you so much! We think so…LOL. She’s a mess! I love baseball and love watching them play. She’s done really well and we are so proud of her! Thank you again! Have a wonderful evening!
DeleteGorgeous. Just like her grandmother! No crying in baseball~ ha! We say that all the time around here...and we don't even play baseball! Congrats to the All Stars!
ReplyDeleteKim, thank you so much! You are too sweet to say that! :-) We say it all the time also…it is just one of those wonderful movie lines that applies to just about anything…LOL. And thank you! She’s very excited about it! She is the only 5-year old on the 7-year old All Star team. Thanks so much and have a great evening!
