I am so far behind on posting these Life Hacks! But you know how it is, once you get behind it is hard to catch up. Oh well, c'est la vie! :-)
Need to glue something together?
ThisToThat.com shows you the best adhesive to use when gluing two different materials together.
To remove the smell of garlic off your hands, rub them vigorously on your stainless steel sink for 30 seconds.
Wash with soap and water. The odor should be gone.
When you choose bell peppers, find the ones with four bumps...these are female. They are full of seeds, are sweeter and better for eating raw.
If you want to cook with bell peppers, choose males. They have three bumps. I had no idea there were male/female bell peppers!
Use water and baking soda to clean your blender.
Toss in a little of both and blend for a few seconds. Rinse well.
To prevent blisters when running...
...rub clear deodorant on your heel or anywhere else your shoes tend to rub against your foot.
Extra: May was once considered a bad luck month to get married. A line from an old poem said, "Marry in May and you'll rue the day."
Hope you all have a great holiday weekend! Remember those who have served our country!

Always love these Benita. I like the idea about rubbing deodorant to keep blisters away and who knew there were male and female peppers. Of course the female peppers are sweeter and more fun to eat!!!! Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Kris
I'm so glad you enjoy them Kris! I like the idea also and will keep this in mind. My tennis shoes always rub! I had no idea either...all news to me about bell peppers having a sexual orientation! Truly! :-) Love to you sweet friend! Hugs!
DeleteI never knew about male and female peppers either! Great hacks.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I was surprised, I had no idea! Hugs!
DeleteNever heard about male and female peppers! WOW! However, I have learned that it's the female yellow flies that go for blood in humans and animals and the male yellow flies tend to feed off plants. I knew those hateful things had to be FEMALES! LOL! Hugs and blessings dear lady.
ReplyDeleteCindy
LOL..that is interesting about the yellow flies! I hate those things. When we've been in Florida visiting my son, we are just eaten alive by those things...UGH!! I found it pretty interesting and will now look for the sweeter of the bell peppers! :-) Love and hugs!
DeleteI love these life hacks. That one about the garlic and stainless steel is really interesting! Have a really great Thursday- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad you enjoy them! I thought it was interesting also. I've seen those stainless steel "soaps" and have heard they are great for removing odors like garlic and onions from your hands. Hope your week is off to a great start! Love and hugs!
DeletePerfect! Now all I have to do is remember which are male and which are female bell peppers when I am shopping in the store. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe garlic hack sounds interesting....does it have to be my kitchen sink? If I am cooking, my kitchen sink is the last place I want my hands. LOL
....OR can it be my fridge as I am cleaning it...two birds with one stone...so to speak. LOL
Seriously, thanks for the hacks, I always look forward to them...Hugs and love
Kari
LOL…I still have to screenshot which bell peppers are which so I can have the info when I go to the store. Yeah, I’m with you…with all the stuff we dump in the sink (even though I’m always spraying disinfectant on it) the last thing I want to do is rub my hands in the sink. I think the refrigerator might work…LOL Love and hugs sweet friend and thank you!!
DeleteMale and female peppers huh? Very cool. Of course, I'll need to pull your post up at the grocery store to recall who has three bumps and who has four!! I don't think I'm going to be able to keep that straight! Keep those hacks coming. I love them!
ReplyDeleteMy plan is to screenshot that snippet so I will know when I'm in the store...LOL Glad you are enjoying the hacks...I'm always finding out something new! Love and hugs!
DeleteSo many of these things sound wonderful when I read them but then I totally forget them!!!! I had heard about the bell peppers:) I won't tell you how I remember which is which though...might be too X rated for a blog comment!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL…that is too funny! I’ve never heard about the bell peppers, so you might need to share! 😉 Have a great day! Hugs!
DeleteI had no idea there were male and female peppers. It's no surprise that the female ones are sweeter. :D The deodorant trick sounds like a good one.
ReplyDeleteI didn't either, but it was an interesting piece of information. Since I only use them in cooking and for pickling, I don't know that it will make that big of a difference for me, but I plan on conducting a test! :-)
DeleteGreat tips! I am not sure I see the bumps on the peppers, I see more than 3 or 4! BUT, I don't like peppers, so I guess I am okay!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I like finding all these "hacks". I do learn a few interesting things but I also learn a lot of useless information...LOL I've seen them with more also so I need to really pay more attention and find out if the hack is true or not! :-) Love and hugs!
DeleteOpps...our anniversary is May 9th! But we've made it 24 years together so I guess it's gonna work out. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL…I don’t buy into the bad marriage in May deal. I’ve got lots of friends who were married in May and they are still going strong. I feel that is another one of those “old wives’ tales”….LOL Love and hugs and congrats!!
DeleteGoodness.. our anniversary is May 31st!!!
ReplyDelete22 years for us.
xx oo
Carla
Happy Anniversary early! I don't believe in the bad marriage in May fable...LOL Love and hugs!
DeleteThanks for these Benita.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan
Thanks so much Jan and you are welcome! Hope you had a great weekend! Hugs!
