Life Hacks #12...

Do you ever have those days that regardless of how much you get done, the further behind you get?!  That's where I'm sitting...I feel like I'm spinning my tires deep in the mud in the backwoods of Alabama on an off-road adventure and can't seem to find my way back onto the pavement!  :-)

Our Master Bedroom Makeover is wrapping up.  I'm up to my eyeballs in caulk and I had several blog projects I wanted to complete, but those just aren't happening.  My plan is to be back on schedule sometime around 2034.  Just typing that number makes me think of one of those bizarre space movies from the 1950's.

Just an FYI, the "baking soda in the water while boiling your eggs" hack does help them peel easier!

If you work from home like I do, plan on keeping your shoes on.
Your brain associates wearing shoes with being busy, thus making you more productive.  I wear flip flops, does that count? :-)

Do you sing in the shower?  If not, start doing so.
Singing in the shower daily helps boost your immunity, lower your blood pressure and reduce stress.  It also puts you in a better mood!

Did one of those kiddos (or you) accidentally use a permanent marker on the dry erase board?
No worries, scribble over the permanent marker with dry erase marker...it will wipe right off.  I've seen this...it works!

Brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand forces the brain to work differently.
This in turn, will improve your self-control.  If I tried this, toothpaste would be dripping from our bathroom ceiling!

Searching for something?  Scan right to left with your eyes.
You will notice more because your brain isn't used to reading that way.

Here's a quizzy question for you:  which of these items contains products that come from a tree?
1. toothpaste
2. football helmet
3. artificial vanilla flavoring
4. a Twinkie
5. all of the above

Enjoy!

  1. I've heard about brushing my teeth with the other hand, sounds like a challenge! I never shower, I like a bath, perhaps I should sing there, it may put me in a better mood but have the opposite effect on the rest of the family!

    1. LOL...I'm strictly a shower person but seldom sing in the shower. I'm always thinking about the "to do" list and things I need to get done for the day. Maybe I need to sing. I've never heard about it nor have I tried it yet. I keep forgetting...LOL

  2. These are always so great. Hmmmm not sure I could Master the tooth brushing with the opposite hand. I use a Sonic Care too so that vibrating in the wrong hand might not work too well. To answer the question it is probably all of the above!!!! Been keeping you in my thoughts for better days and calm! Have a good week.

    1. I love finding these things! I haven’t tried the toothbrushing with my left hand, I keep forgetting. LOL..there is no telling what might happen with a vibrating toothbrush. 😉 YES, it is all of the above!! Kind of scary though! Thank you so much sweet friend! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it! Love and hugs! ❤

  3. These are great. Haha. I was wondering about the filp flops too. Of course I have to wear shoes to work and usually keep my feet curled in my chair because I’m afraid a spider will touch my foot! I will often see spiders visit my office. Big uns!
I brush my teeth with both hands usually but sing in the shower? Sometimes, but most of the time I spend 30 minutes in there planning the rest of my life.

    1. I hate spiders!! I would wear shoes and keep my feet curled up under me as well AND would keep bug spray around...LOL I'm usually in there about that long also...planning, not singing. Hugs!!

  4. Reading Lisa’s comment and wondering if she has a huge water tank! I spend five minutes in the shower including shaving my legs and washing my hair. Four minutes if I don’t wash my hair. But I do everything lightning fast.

All of the above I think, but just guessing.

    1. I seriously could take a shower and shave my legs in 10 minutes but It's not unusual for me to take 20 minute showers.

    2. All of the above is correct! 😊 I spend about 25-30…keep turning the water to the hot side the longer I’m in there..LOL and then try to remember to do a cool down. I love the hot water! It helps my sore muscles and gives me time to think and plan. I don’t sing…LOL Love and hugs!!
