Merry Christmas....

Oh, the weather outside is frightful (75 degrees - blech),
And the fire is NOT delightful,
But I'm hoping for good photos,
It's the way it goes, way it goes, way it goes!

Merry Christmas from our family, y'all!  It's a warm Hawaiian day down here in the South!

This first Christmas photo is an oldie but a goodie.  My mom was wearing her extra special hairpiece (wig) in 1972 and I obviously hit a growing spurt.  What you can't see is that those nice velveteen purple pants hit right at the top of my WHITE, yes WHITE "go-go" boots (I was a fashion rebel)...you know, those like Nancy Sinatra wore in her video "These Boots are Made for Walkin'".

You know why I had on purple?  Because Donny Osmond's favorite color was purple and I was IN LOVE with Donny Osmond...even tried to call him at his home in Utah after a concert in Birmingham!  ~shaking head~  I didn't know any better.  *gah*

The photo below was from Christmas 2009 in Dallas with the hubster's family.  My MIL purchased these snuggies for us...this was my first "white Christmas".  The hubster is hiding in the back...his was pink! :-)

Here's a Christmas song for your listening pleasure (my friends in Texas will appreciate a little Robert Earl Keene today)!

What?!  Like you would expect anything normal from me??!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  1. Those were quite some pictures in this post! I am up early on this Christmas day, all dressed with makeup on and hair hot roller-ed. I have vowed to be ready for pictures before anyone gets up so I don't end up looking like an old grandma (which I am) in every picture this year. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Hoping we will see some more of your beautiful new house next year.

We actually spent most of the day watching the weather...lots of tornado warnings down here the past 2 days. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!!

  2. Oh goodness, Benita, this song is hysterical. Be careful with that homemade eggnog today ;) You were such a cute Donny Osmand fan! I had an outfit that could easily have rivaled yours...think purple, pink, and yellow plaid bell-bottoms. Nancy Sinatra would have been so proud of us, Girlfriend!

Awww, you are so sweet...but I was just in love with him! :-) LOL...I think I had an outfit very similar!! Oh, the 70s and those fashion statements we were making!! :-) And yes, she would have been! We would have been so cool together, hanging out at the mall in our cool outfits! :-)

  8. I was worried about all of you down south--I assume you are okay cuz these pics are so fun and you obviously have a sense of humor not found in people who are cowering in a storm cellar.

Love and Merry Christmas. Actually, 1 hour and its all over here! )

    1. Thank you so much…it’s been a horrible few days with all of the tornadoes and storms. I hate when the weather does this! Yes, we are safe and snug this evening, thank you! My sense of humor is very bizarre, that’s for sure and I can probably safely say I don’t think another blogger has this video on the blog…LOL

Love and hugs to you sweet friend! I hope your day has been wonderful and blessed with all that Christmas brings!

    1. The video is one of our most favorites for Christmas….as most family gatherings probably resemble this video rather than the Norman Rockwell paintings…LOL I love all the old posed photos too….eyes closed and all! :-) And the boots were awesome!!
