Frazzled Friday...

It's the Friday before Christmas and all through the house, all we creatures are stirring and there better not be a mouse!  I'm hustling and bustling trying to finish up shopping and wrapping and baking!  Then, throw in some work at the office and you have one frazzled female!  But it wouldn't be the holidays if I were not frazzled, right??!

Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of having dinner with another blogger, Kimberley at Seaside Ave.  We had such a wonderful time and I talked non-stop...sorry Kimberley!  I love meeting other bloggers...it is so wonderful to be able to put blogger names with a face and a personality!

Here's a little photo from the past...I love watching kids during the holidays, don't you??!!

I also love watching A Charlie Brown Christmas!  The hubster and I watched it the other night...Linus' speech gets me every time!

A popular Christmas movie I dislike....It's A Wonderful Life!  You know why?  Because they never show you what happens.....they just leave you hanging.  Does George have to go to jail even though he has all of the money?  It's still considered embezzlement, regardless.  Does Old Man Potter fess up...that he has kept the money all this time?  See, loose ends...I'm just sayin'..

And a song I dislike to hear the most during the Christmas holidays...

Happy Friday!

  2. DITTO on your dislikes, and to add one more The Elf on the shelf.I did not realize how scarry it could for little ones until my youngest did not like Santa because of his seeing you every where. And i could not reasonably explain that the her. So Merry Christmas to you and yours. And Happy New Year.

    1. The Elf on the Shelf was not around when my kids were little, so I didn't have to traumatize them with it. I've heard mixed reviews. My granddaughter seems to love hers....but Gia is 6 and has probably scared the Elf to death by now...LOL. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you! Hugs!!

  3. I agree about "It's a Wonderful Life". I prefer my holiday movies to be a little cheesy and joyful. What a darling little Santa in that first photo...goodness gracious!! :)

Cool! I will check it out Away In A Manger….I love cute/fun stuff like that!

And thanks for the heads up on Christmas in Connecticut. We have it on DVD, but I like watching it when it comes on TCM so that I can hear what Robert Osborn has to say about it. I like that “behind the scenes” stuff…LOL

Thanks for the heads up on the new email…got it logged now! Love and hugs sweet lady! Have a great weekend!! :-)

  5. Two voices that I love at Christmastime, signaling lots of memories, are Andy Williams and Johnny Mathis. Anything and everything from their classic albums says Christmas in my book. I can't stand the song, "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" and "All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth". Don't know who they are, but those voices get on my last nerve. I love all the foods at Christmas! I love the spring we're having for winter this year! I love your frazzled Friday, but I better get busy now, I have a week's worth of listed chores to cross off! XO

    1. Oh Rita, I am with you on those. Those 2 songs are similar to hearing nails scratch a chalkboard for me and I despise them. Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra…LOVE those voices and the songs…Christmas perfection for me! I do wish we would get some cold weather for the holiday, but not going to happen. It’s cold today, 40 degrees, but for the big day…70…YUCK! :-) Thank you so much honey and I hope you have a fabulously, productive weekend! Hugs!!

  6. With events you have posted on your blog over the last few mths I can totally see how you would be a little sensitive to that song as it hits a little too close to home...

“She'd been drinking too much egg nog,
And we'd begged her not to go.
    But she forgot her medication,
And she staggered through the door into the snow.”

As you are Frazzled already a wk away please note the take home msg - don’t forget your meno meds and don’t spike your eggnog – your whole blog family would miss you if you had a reindeer mishap! Haha!

    1. YES, I will be taking it easy and not crossing any streets while enjoying the eggnog! Of course, mine is non-alcoholic, so I think I'm safe, as long as I'm aware! LOL You crack me up! :-) I'm still working out the meds thing...the hubster wants a quick solution to that! :-)

  8. I am not worried - they can all eat what I throw on the table. I just need to clear a little bit all over the house! It's A Wonderful Life - it's a movie George becomes a millionaire and all the kids go to private school and Mr. Potter goes to jail. Don't forget Tony Bennett! That child is beautiful - must be the photographer.

    1. I'm glad I'm not having to cook this year...I just get to "bring a dish", which works for me! :-) I like your ending...that should have included that for those of us who want to know what really happened! :-) Love me some Tony Bennett also....so wonderful! Awww, thank you so much!!

  9. I never liked that movie either. Always thought I was weird. Well, at least I'm not alone! Get unfrazzled, my friend!

  11. I really love your first few lines, Benita...lol! And I often wonder about movies...especially our much loved Hallmark and Lifetime movies. I find so many weird inconsistencies in them. Last night I watched one where the a whole restaurant was decked out to the max with Christmas stuff that all came from one small carton. Gag me! Oh well, it's not Academy Award material, all those hunky widowed men pitted against each other would be so hard!

I just met Kim online and her blog...she is so sweet. Where did you two meet?

Good luck with your holiday prep...it all works out in the end for some magical reason. :)

    1. LOL...thank you...just silly Christmas humor, Benita-style! :-) I've watched so many Hallmark movies, I think I know them all by heart! I'm with you on that stuff...tell me how you get all those decorations out of one tiny box? I have 12 boxes and can't seem to decorate a Christmas tree! No, not Academy Award material at all....but lots of sappy material! I'll take it during the holidays...LOL

She is so adorable! We ate at a restaurant called The Row. It was delicious and they had live music, which I talked all the way through...LOL. Hope you are having a relaxing weekend and yes, it does! Hugs to you!! :-)

  12. Since I've been retired the last 4 years the holidays are frazzled as they were when I worked. I never wondered the ending of It's a wonderful life, he doesn't go to jail because the town saved him. Back in those days they forgave people for a mistake, it wasn't intentional. I never really figures out why anyone would do a song about Grandma and Grandpa getting run over by a reindeer. Hope you get unfrazzled soon!

    1. Thank you so much Cathy! I keep thinking each year will be better, but it hasn't happened yet. I think it's just all part of it! :-) I don't get the song either...haven't liked it since it debuted....LOL. I've always tried to watch the movie but never can seem to sit still through it, although I know it by heart! :-)

  13. AAAAHHHHHH NOOOOO!!!! That's my all time favorite movie - I cry every single time at the end!! And no, George doesn't have to go to jail, the warrant was ripped up!!! I do love the Charlie Brown Christmas movie also - haven't seen it in a while, I think I'm due.

    1. I can't explain why I've never liked it...when I was growing up and we would watch it, I would usually end up going to read or something like that...we only had 1 TV with 4 channels...LOL. I've just never liked it. I was due for Charlie Brown also and enjoyed every minute of it! :-)

  16. I try to get everything done in November so I am NOT frazzled in December. My problem is that I usually get sick (probably from pushing too much in November)! The song on the video is funny....I actually bought my granddaughter one of those musical stuffed Christmas toys that sings that song....

I think they are the best also…I’ve met 2 other bloggers now and hope to meet a few more next month! We are truly going to try to get to Wisconsin…the hubster wants to look at some retirement land and he has a friend he wants to visit…so I may be knocking on your door sometime in the next few months…LOL :-) Big Christmas hugs to you sweet friend!! Hope your week is off to a great start!
