So Here's A Few....

..bizarre things.  Oh, and before I forget, it was the garbage disposal that was leaking water under the kitchen sink.  The plumber had to install a new one.  I've told you we are temporary renters, right?  Glad that was a bill I did not have to pay!  Maintenance took care of the problem, I had a chocolate milkshake to calm my rattled nerves and all was right with the world...for a few minutes anyway.

I have a post I'm going to write on a wonderful Quinoa recipe, but I thought this might be a little more interesting and I can save the recipe for next week.

I was looking for a Lysol commercial that I referenced in a comment on a friend's blog.  I couldn't find the commercial, but did find this article: Lysol-Scented V*****.  WHAT IN THE WORLD??!!  You need to click on that link, leave this blog right now and read that article.  I will warn you, it contains more information than you really want to know, and it is not very lady-like.  Just sayin'...

It is not a myth...men do vacuum!  Without being asked!  I have photographic evidence right here!

I apologize for the blurry photo, but I had to snap quickly.  It was sort of like photographing a leprechaun...you better catch him while you can!

Happy Weekend!

  3. Great photo...love to see men do housework. We have 3 grown daughters and, luckily, all their husbands do the vacuuming. Yay for mothers of sons who know they are raising not only sons, but future husbands.

    1. Sharon, thank you and I couldn’t agree more. I raised both of my sons to be helpful around the house, especially if their wives worked outside of the home. It’s a partnership! :-)

  4. Interesting article. Yeah, when I was young, they tried to sell that douching routine and I fell prey to it. I have a lot of infections years later too. Wonder if that had anything to do with it? Oddly enough, before menopause, I seemed to have constant yeast infections. Then at 28, I had a vaginal hysterectomy. And I didn't have the infections again until the onset of menopause. Now problems again. Lysol? Uh, no.

    1. When I was younger they tried to force that whole routine on us also (in health class at school—yuck), which probably did contribute to issues you experienced. I feel that maybe the medical community didn’t have a tight grasp on what was going on with females. The Lysol really blew my mind. But I remember my former mother-in-law telling me that they were told to use Lysol to help heal their episiotomy incision. CRAZINESS!!! My hysterectomy was at 29. Seems it is a viscious cyle of problems for women! And yep, no Lysol here either!

  5. Wait.....I might of aspirated some of that coffee I choked on while laughing reading that article !!! I have to say, I remember finding my mom's "kit" for douching when I was 12, never asked question's and didn't figure out till year's later what the heck that rubber balloon was for !?!? Nothing sexier than a man doing housework !!! Haha Hug's Benita, TT

    1. LOL….you are too funny! I should have put that the article was X-rated. I skimmed over it but didn’t read all of the details. The hubby read some of it to me and I was mortified that I had linked the article…I need to pay better attention when linking to my blog…LOL. I crawled under the desk and cried for a bit…LOL

I remember the Summer’s Eve commercials and thinking that just had to be the worst thing in the world!! LOL. The rubber balloon…that’s hilarious!!! He’s a good helper…think I’ll keep him around! ;-) Hugs!!!

  7. My husband's mother did all the cleaning when he was growing up. After we were married, he thought it was fun to vacuum, do laundry and clean the bathrooms. Unfortunately he outgrew his wonderment of all things involving housework. I think this early I will skip the link.

    1. It was a horrible article, but I am glad you enjoyed the coffee....LOL. Was there a little Lysol aftertaste??? ;-) I just see the word and smell that stuff! I told Brenda that my former MIL said they used to tell them to use it to heal the episiotomy incision. I cannot imagine...that is just horrible and I'm wondering how many women died from these horrible practices..totally insane! We are both scarred from that article! LOL

I do too, especially when you don't ask! :-)

Hmmmm, try the Lysol with the mice...LOL. Seriously, that is not fun at all! Sending special HUGS your way for that problem!!! HUGS times 4!!! :-)

  9. Thank goodness, I haven't had breakfast yet! I vaguely remember hearing about this, and the commercials! I would never use this ever, that is just crazy! That is one reason why my husband loved renting, is not having to have the expense of fixing things! Glad your leak is fixed! Agreed...I'll take help with housework over chocolate and roses any day! :) Have a great week, Benita! *hugs*
