The Return of....

....well, me.

As you may or may not have noticed, I have been MIA for quite some time now.  I finally got up the nerve to log back into my account and start writing again.  I have no idea how the settings work anymore, so please bear with me.

It occurred to me that since my last blog post, I've had two birthdays...yes TWO!  Sheesh, I'm old.  I have a new hair color...purple and blonde.  It was blue and blonde, but I decided to go a little wild.  Below is a photo of me with Gia...she was able to visit for 2 weeks this summer.  She thinks I'm her aunt...works for me!

While there have been quite a few changes in life, I noticed that my blog has stayed pretty much the same...specifically, my top post.  That "Eye Candy" post over there must never get old...LOL

There are so many things to catch up on, but first, I need to say something about army worms.  I HATE them!  They have ruined our yard.  Every time I saw one crawling in the yard or across our driveway, I scooped it up with the flyswatter and placed it in my special jar....to die a slow painful smothering death!  Yep, I smothered them.  Go ahead, call PETA.  I. Don't. Care.  After a couple of days of smothering them, we finally called a hit man.  I'm happy to say that I haven't had to smother an army worm in 5 days now.  Hopefully that is the last we will see of those creepy crawly creatures!  YUCK!

I have a few projects to share (and a DIY that didn't fail...YAY me!)...we've been working on this sweet little cottage of ours...and work is still in process.  My plan is to start sharing later this week.  First up was updating another half bath.  Seems like I am destined to redo half baths from now on...they are so neglected.  Here's a partial sneak peek of the finished project...

    1. Honey, I have missed you too! And thank you so much! I've missed your blog posts as well and am looking forward to catching back up! Please tell Tammy hello for me. I went to her blog but her comments were closed and I can't find her email address. Thank you so much for the sweet words about my photography. That's another thing that I've jumped back into...most of it is on Instagram, but I've struggled to keep up there also! Thank you so much Dewena...I just love you for being you and for your encouragement! Love and miss you!!

    2. I will tell Tam you're back, Benita. And Doreen too. I've been so sick with the flu that I owe them emails so will pass the word along.

I forgot to mention your beautiful granddaughter, above. Such a cute picture of you both. She sure has a gorgeous...I'm trying to remember what she calls you. Is it Gigi??

    3. Please do and thank you so much! Thankfully, I’ve avoided that stuff this year. Last year I ended up with the flu in March/April and pneumonia for the full month of December…I want it far away from me! 😊 I do hope you are feeling better!

She calls me Bebe. 😊 Thank you so much! She is so precious and I just love her so! Love and hugs!

    1. Donna, thank you so much! It feels good to be back and writing my silly thoughts down rather than toting them around in my head! I've missed you and your sweet words of encouragement! Looking forward to picking up where we left off! :-)

  4. So happy to see you back! I'm not letting you sneak away again...I will be bugging you if you go too long without posting. Your decorating always gets me inspired to mess up something in my house and have to call in a professional. Can't wait to see what you've done to your home.

    1. Thanks so much Kris! It is good to be back! I've thought about you girls also. I tried keeping up on Instagram but I never saw half of anyone's posts because of the way they changed things up. It was very frustrating! Thank you on the bath, it was a tight fit getting both of us in there to work, but we did it...LOL. Yeah, I hate those things. One way to tell if you have army worms...lots of moths during the day! YUCK! Love and hugs to you!

    1. LOL…I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only one who talks to the computer! Edward asks me all the time who I’m talking to…I just tell him my special friend…LOL. I’m glad to be back and am looking forward to catching up on all that I’ve missed! Life has been interesting, as has been the hair color. 😊 I asked Gia how old she thought I was when I was trying to explain to her that I wasn’t her aunt…she said “you’re like 12, but with wrinkles”….LOL…sheesh!

  11. Hello Dear Friend,
So excited to have you share all that has been happening your way.
Many things have happened here too. Our oldest graduated HS and is at Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Yep, Midwest boy gets down to Basic and the first thing he gets to experience .. a hurricane. ;-) He has signed up to be in the Wisconsin National Guard .. Communication, signals and radio.

    Glad you are back!

  12. Welcome back Benita, and thank you for visiting my blog. I don’t post as much anymore, as we are in nesting mode most of the time. We moved to North Carolina officially in July but had been here for nine months prior while the house was being built. If I recall, your elevation is very similar to ours. Is that the same house you’re in currently or did you move again?

    1. Hello sweet friend! You are very welcome! I know you are enjoying being in your new home after all of those months! I also hope you guys survived the storm and are on the other side of it! We are still in the same house and thankfully haven't moved since last year! I think I need a little more time to enjoy this home before we pull up stakes again! :-) Looking forward to seeing your new home! Love and hugs!

    1. Thank you for not giving up on me. And thank you so much! After daddy died, the wind had been let out of my sails and then we moved and then several other close family members passed away and it just spiraled down hill from there. I'm finally feeling back to my old self and ready to dive back in! Thank you so much, I just love her so and really enjoyed her visit this summer! No ma'am, I got that other true Southern flavor...Key Lime Pie! It was AWESOME! Thank you for missing me and visiting again! Love and hugs to you!
