Halloween Decor...

...plus a little more!

I thought I would share a close-up of some of our Halloween decor...

...and share...

...two great Halloween party invitations that I found on Pinterest.  Don't look into that kid's eyes too long...you will get dizzy and after a couple of seconds, everything looks blurry...LOL

We didn't have a party this year...too much going on.

BUT, if we did have one, this is one of the invitations I would have used.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
By the moon we gather here,
To celebrate this time of year.
When witches fly and the dead arise,
The zombie moan with glowing eyes.
We gather round the pumpkin's light,
And party long into the night.
Witches brew and bat wing stew,
Come taste our punch and cupcakes too.
So disguise yourself and your better half,
Come round 'bout 7 for many a laugh.
We will party long into the night,
'Til all are blessed with second sight.

I don't know about you, but some Witches Brew and Bat Wing Stew sounds pretty darn appetizing!  I will try not to think about the ingredients.

My other favorite invitation goes like this...

When tombs creak open
And witches take flight
We'll gather in the
Desolate dark of night.
Come join in the revelry
Do not dare be late
Else woe and misfortune
Shall be your fate.

Since I don't like to tempt fate, I would definitely be there on time!  I thought these invitations were adorable for a Halloween party...so creative!

Soooo, what do you guys do for Halloween, besides eat candy and scare small children??!

  1. Whoa, you should've had a party with all your decor out! We had not too many littles this year, and plenty of candy leftover. As it should be. Mwahahaha!!!

    1. We thought about it but decided not to...maybe next year! I bought candy for all of the trick-or-treaters we knew we wouldn't get...now we get to eat it all also...as it should be! :-)

  2. Love all your great decor. Love all the witches outfits lined up and ready to be put on tonight!!! Our weather is suppose to be pretty mild so that will be good for the trick or treaters this year. Happy Halloween.

    1. Thank you so much Kris! The witches outfit area was a bear to get situated. I used a pair of my shoes and slipped little covers over them…I found them at The Halloween Store. I was looking for witches shoes and couldn’t find any, but these worked great! Hope you had a great Halloween! Love and hugs!

  4. Lovely!! "I'll be doing my dead level best to terrorize those that dare to my door" is what I'd like to say, but with so many wee ones in my hood I'll just be luring them to my door with sweets in my witch costume. My Halloween is Renaissance Festival for All Hallow's Eve weekend!

    1. I love your costume, if it is the one on FB! I hope you didn't scare them too much!! :-) What people don't understand is that candy has more power than witches...they can lure anyone to overeat and gain weight! :-)

    1. Thank you so much Brenda! We have narrowed the vintage typewriter collection down to 2. Edward had 17 at one time..those things were horrible to move around.

  7. We are opening the door to Trick or Treating ... and more ... ;-)
We do Trick or Treat, that ends at 7pm. We will order pizza, make popcorn and I made dirt cake for dessert and we plan to watch Murder!

    1. That sounds like so much fun Carla!! I really hate that we don't get any trick-or-treaters here. We so enjoy all the kids. The rain didn't help the crowds here in the Metroplex. There were not a lot out at the in-laws. Hope you guys had a great time!

  8. You make me wish I would have decorated more for Halloween. I love the way you do it :)

I only had two little kids that came to the door this year. Our street is dark and I think it's too off the beaten path. John says next year we're going to go all out and put lights and signs with arrows to our house lol

    I hope you had fun!

    1. Thank you so much! We do love it so and it is so much fun! We had 1 last year and I don’t know if we had any this year. We went to my brother-in-law’s house and went out with them to take their kids trick-or-treating. The rain really put a damper on things. Next year, I would love to do a little ‘haunted’ house thing…maybe that would be good to get some kids to your area….of course, the problem is letting random kids wander through your house…LOL Love and hugs!

  10. Just came back from your Thanksgiving table post and wow, the buffalo check plates do look great here too for Halloween! I can see why your house was photographed for a magazine at this season next year, every detail is so great. Spookily terrific!

I don't do much Halloween decor anymore but I do bring out the really old black and white family photographs from the turn of the century for my own touch of spooky, hoping that I'm not getting any frowns of annoyance from above, or below, as the case may be!!

    1. Thank you so much Dewena, you are so sweet! We stopped putting out a lot of Halloween stuff because kids don’t come through here for trick-or-treating. The only reason we did this year was because the magazine shoot was supposed to be for Halloween…then they changed it to fall, so on November 1st, I was running around crazy trying to get the house decorated for fall. Our fall shoot will be in the September 2019 issue. The old black/white family photos are also perfect…I love the old ones and buy them whenever I see them in stores. Ours don’t look scary enough for me…LOL Love and hugs!
