Shopping Smart...

....with Walmart!  No, this is not a sponsored post...I like sharing pretty things!

Getting back to it...have you seen all the cool stuff that Walmart has added to their website lately?!?  I'm impressed!  I would so have this in my house as my entry if I had an entry area!

Since I purchase my groceries through their app, their ads pop up on my phone, on Facebook, on Instagram, in my email, etc.  It's like Walmart is stalking me!  I suppose if I didn't use their app to buy groceries for pickup and delivery, then they would leave me alone, but I really like using that grocery app!

Most of the time, something will pop up that I really like, so I click on it, which causes me to get more ads.  Fortunately, I do like the things I'm seeing on their website. For instance, when I go to their website, this image may pop up.

I like the look and am curious about the design pieces in this room...I click on it and boom, there they are! It's all laid out for you.  They show you everything that makes up the room...the furniture, the wall decor, the pillows and throws, etc.  They also have a "tips and ideas" decorating section. Pretty darn cool.

For some, it might be a struggle, and a bit overwhelming, to pull a room together.  I like that they have done all the work for you by picking out all of the design elements and creating a cohesive look!

Just recently, I received an email that told me that my home needed an elegant dining room.  Now, I'm not really in the market for an elegant dining room, but if I were, this would be something I was interested in.

In addition to showing you all the components of the room, they let you know whether it is an actual Walmart product or if the product is shipped from another company. That way, if something comes from a company you don't particularly like, then you are able to find something similar from somewhere else.

Something else I've been getting in my inbox from Walmart...recipes!  They lay it all out for you.  They tell you the ingredients that you need and can purchase on the grocery app, then they share the recipe.  Walmart is really stepping it up a notch...or two!  I know that a few other sites do this same thing for you, but honestly, some of those places are just out of reach for our budget-minded change purse.

As I stated earlier, Walmart did not sponsor this post...it is all me! :-)  I just didn't want you to miss something pretty AND reasonably priced!  I like they way they are helping to simplify my life!  By the way, all the images are from Walmart.com!

  1. How cool is this!!! Walmart is starting to do a lot like Amazon. They have lots of other vendors besides themselves that you can get things on their site at great prices. I love this whole design idea especially if you see something in the design you like and want to buy. Very cool. Happy Thursday.

    1. It is very cool and I love it! Their prices are very reasonable and they have some really great bargains! I love their staging...not sure who they using to style for them, but they are knocking it out the park, so to speak! :-) I do like that they have taken all the guesswork out of it! Happy Thursday to you! Love and hugs!

  2. Whoa, wait, Walmart! There a blog by that name and also on Instagram. Have to check out the room decor. Maybe if Kmart and Sears had upped their game, they wouldn't be circling the drain now. Have a splendid Thursday! We are headed to Menard's to buy a 2x4 for the chicken run and elbows and a length of pipe to repair a downspout. Exciting stuff, I'm tellin' ya!

    1. I saw that also! Apparently they are a couple of chicks who buy stuff at Walmart and then recommend it to other people…pretty good idea! I totally agree with you on Kmart and Sears..they just refused to get with the program and when they finally realized they needed it, it was just too late. Makes me sad…Hope you have a great day also…doesn’t sound like you are going to be having much fun though…oh the thrilling life of home ownership! 😊Love and hugs!

  4. I don't have an entry either. I have noticed all the beautiful stuff online from Walmart. I wonder how well the furniture is made? You say you use Walmart to pick up your groceries. I'm curious as I haven't done this, do they pick out good fruit, for instance? Are you happy with this service?

    1. We have purchased a few furniture items from them in the past and it was pretty solidly made. But we don’t have kids at home, so I don’t know how it would last under duress…LOL

Yes, I do use them for grocery pickup. I love it! I have purchased strawberries and bananas and they have been really good choices. The bananas are always a little on the green side, but that’s okay. By the time we use them, they have fully ripened. I haven’t used them to pick out pork chops though, just ground beef and chicken. We usually get our chops at another grocery store, Brookshire’s, because they have really great fresh meat. I am very happy with them. The employees who bring the food out are all very nice and polite. They let you know ahead of time if they had to substitute something…you can choose to accept it or send it back. Usually the substitution is much better than what I picked but they only charge you for what you pick, not the cost of the item they had to substitute. It has cut our food budget because I don’t pick up items I don’t need. I do like that! Have a great day! Love and hugs!

  6. I have avoided going to Walmart's online site as I like to stroll the isles and touch stuff and see what's new. I had no idea they had such stylish ideas online! I'll be going to their site because of this post. Maybe you should try to reap some reward from them for your suggestions?

    1. I like to stroll around also, but sometimes, I just don’t have the time. I also have to order my youngest son’s groceries for him for 2-day shipping (they don’t have the pick-up deal yet), so the online stuff helps me tremendously. I had no idea they had so many cool things either…glad I opened an email from them! 😊 That’s what I’m thinking also! 😊

    1. I was very impressed also…who knew, right?! I’m not sure who is designing for them, but they have done a great job! YES…isn’t that crazy about the recipes also??!! Like you, I’m always looking for new recipes. I have tons of cookbooks but not a lot of time to sit and look through them….so, when something comes via email, it’s easy to pop it open and check it out.

Thank you so much and thank you for visiting! I hope you will come back! Have a great day! 😊

  9. Well Walmart should ask to sponsor a post for you, Benita, my goodness, they should be so lucky!

I have family members who do grocery store pickup to shop and while I can't say that appeals to me I can see circumstances where it would--like trying to shop now while coughing my head off and clearing out my aisle when doing it. And I do enjoy seeing blog posts about rooms being pulled together so why not store suggestions? But, there goes more time...will we end up becoming virtual people someday? My big chunk of browsing time goes to every single story on FB from Brit shelter magazines. I click on a two hundred year old cottage to see how it's decorated and then another and another and before you know it I'm late starting supper. Oh well.

    1. That's what I'm thinking...LOL I wasn't all about the store pick-up at first either. But after doing it a couple of times when I didn't feel well or didn't really have time to grocery shop, it got better and better each time. Now, it is hard for me to go in and pick up a few things...it saves me so much time! Honey, I have the same problem...one post begets another and another. Edward and I say the same thing, we will all be "virtual" one day! Love you!

  10. I don't visit Walmart's website very much because I am in the store at least twice a week! I have noticed how they are carrying other companies products online, which is cool. I will have to check out the home décor section. I found the cutest outfit there yesterday in their Time and Tru line. The top and jeggings cost me all of $24. They fit perfect too.

    1. We were going several times a week also and the pick-up service has helped with that tremendously! I think it is cool also…I think they are smart in doing that and are probably making a percentage of the sales from the other company…not a bad business idea. WOW…that is awesome! I will need to check that out! Love and hugs!

  11. Walmart is scared of amazon. I read an article that they're trying to entice wealthier customers, because walmart is known for low end and amazon caters to higher end. It's interesting to see what they've come up with. Looks good so far!

love to you and sorry for flooding your inbox lol

    1. Rue, you are exactly right! Amazon is taking over the online business model and I think Walmart was smart to step up their line and try to compete. Amazon sells everything from everyone, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out! Honey, no worries at all! Love and hugs to you!

  12. You are right Benita, I was just saying to my husband "Walmart is changing things up!" Which I appreciate, because I go there for grocery and other items and now maybe more items.

    1. We do a lot of shopping at Walmart…the store is literally 2 minutes from my home! I love HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby, Target, etc., but they cannot touch Walmart’s prices. And now that Walmart is improving their quality, it only makes sense to me to shop there.

  13. I think more and more this will happen.
It's fierce competition out there for our money!
