I'm A Closet....

...weirdo!  I know it is hard to believe, but I am.

In August I traveled back home to Alabama to house sit and dog sit for one of my sisters (and yes, I did check to see if "house sit" or "dog sit" needed to be hyphenated.  See?! I'm a weirdo.

While staying at her home I noticed that her toilet tissue had scalloped edges.  I asked her where she found it...Walmart.  She no longer had the packaging to show me but she thought it was Charmin, Ultra Soft.

If you know me well you know that I buy some things just because of how they look, NOT for their usefulness.  But this time I was going for a "two-fer" and you guys know how much I love "two-fers"!  Well, actually this was a "three-fer"...looked pretty, was useful AND was long-lasting at a whopping 426 sheets per roll!

The next morning I left early (didn't want everyone to buy it all up) to go to the local Walmart to find this scalloped-edge (should be hyphenated) tissue.  Of course, there wasn't a package to be found.  I know the people who saw me thought I had lost my mind.  I was staring at every package of Charmin tissue I could find...twirling the rolls around in the packages looking for scalloped edges.  I later told my friend Connie about this special tissue and asked for her help in finding this treasure.  Sooooo off we went to various Walmart stores looking for this tissue.  It was a total bust!  I took to the internet...Google teased me with promises of scalloped-edge tissue but never delivered.  It says it exists and that it is the best.  Based on the reviews, it got 4 out of 5 stars!  Must have been something pretty special since 4,394 people took the time to talk about it!
*Sigh*.  I returned home empty handed.

Now it also stands to reason that if I would buy toilet tissue because of a pretty scalloped edge, I would buy hand soap because of it's pretty container, right?  Right!  I don't know if y'all have seen these or not, but Bath and Body Works has these pretty soap containers...another "two-fer"...they contain soap!

I love them!  Don't really care what they smell like, they match my house...black and white!  And who really goes around sniffing their hands anyway?!?  Well, I do...sometimes.  But I digress. I first found them in the store but haven't seen any lately so I've had to order them online. While ordering, I found this new scent...

I don't know what "Fresh Sparkling Snow" smells like but I will find out when my order arrives...I will use it, smell my hands and tell you about it. :-)

I want to thank you all for your sweet words welcoming me back.  I've missed you all and I've missed writing.  Looking forward to catching up!

    1. Thank you so much! I'm still searching! A friend of mine found a review that stated it was a "trial" production. I hate when companies do that...every time I go in the store I still look for Lay's Chicken and Waffles potato chips! :-) Hope you have a great weekend! Love and hugs to you!

  2. Oh my gosh I would love that toilet paper with the scalloped edges. Ok now I am on the hunt. It is so funny how the silliest little things like this make us happy. Have a great day today.

    1. It's amazing the lengths we go to in order to have pretty/functional accessories! I'm still looking, determined not to give up. But here's the thing, when I find it and put in the bathroom, how do I tell people to not use it??!! LOL Hope you have a great weekend! Love and hugs to you!!

  3. Ha ha ha ha hey I'm all over those soaps, they HAVE to both look good on my counters and also smell good!!! Always has to be a two-fer! The toilet paper on the other hand? I have a septic system at my house so can only use Scott or Marcal, wahhh!! Doesn't matter, it gets the job done, wink wink!! ;)

    1. I’m more about them being aesthetically pleasing…BUT, if it stinks, it has to go! When we had septic, we had to find those marked “septic safe” also. Now that we are on sewer, the sky’s the limit…especially for what the city charges for sewer service…LOL. And I totally get ya!! 😊

  4. This is good. And so much truth. I've actually gotten rid of soap that bugged me for the way it looked on the counters. One thing about that tp though, we have some tp dispensers in our house that will NOT accommodate those huge 426 sheet rolls! But trying to figure out the mega rolls, super mega rolls and double mega rolls is really hard - like high math - when standing in the grocery store. Seriously.

    1. Honey, I totally know what you mean! The mega, super mega and double mega are crazy confusing, especially when the double mega has less sheets per roll than the regular mega!! It drives me insane and causes me to spend waaaayyyyy too much time on something that is literally going to be flushed! 😊

    1. I will definitely let you know! I hope that it does and isn't one of those "clean" scents.

  6. Fresh sparking snow - just typing those words scare me. We remember Snowmaggedon (I do not know how to spell it, just know how to say it) here several years ago, I do NOT want that again. I wouldn't mind smelling it, just don't want to jinx James Spann into saying those words...........

    1. Oh my gosh! I know it...that was a total nightmare!! Snowmaggedon looks right to me! :-) There is no other good name for it! My sister had to be rescued off the interstate after spending hours trapped in her car. No, no jinxing James Spann! I think the entire city of Birmingham would hunt me down! :-)

    1. Truly, there are so many to choose from! It is a hard decision to make regarding scent, that is why I choose how the container looks. Makes my life easier! Thanks so much Jan! Love and hugs!

  8. Oh this is so you!! And you'll be my excuse if I ever find some. Packaging is super important and those darling hand soap containers would tempt me too.

    1. I hate that I choose the smaller items based on how they look, but my OCD wants things coordinated...not necessarily matching, but coordinated...LOL The fact that these do smell good is a bonus! :-) Love you sweet friend!

  9. Benita,
Are you telling me some people buy products for reasons other than how they look?

As you can see, I'm catching up on my commenting. Been under the weather for many days and weeks, but finally feeling a little better, plus I am signed into Google so I can comment. I've read most of your posts already, but wasn't signed in to Google to comment, and was too tired to deal.

    1. LOL….the hubster thinks it is totally ridiculous to buy something because it looks pretty, rather than how it functions…but that is a man for you. He doesn’t understand buying furniture you can’t sit on either…LOL

Oh no, I do hope you are feeling better! Please take care of yourself! Dewena had the flu and bronchitis…seems it is that time of year when bugs are making the rounds! I totally understand not wanting to deal with Google…I get so frustrated on the signing in/out to make comments! As always, thank you so much for your sweet words and encouragement! Love and hugs!

    1. I found out that it was an advertising/test trial deal. Hopefully it passed and they will mass produce it. I would LOVE colored tp…but then someone is going to sue over a rash or some such because of allergies. Angel Soft used to make one with little colored flowers on it, but it quickly went away…I was disappointed. Thank you…I love this soap…it smells so good! Love and hugs!
