Life Hacks #3...

I hope you all are enjoying the Life Hacks series.  I've enjoyed scouting around the internet for content.

I found this saying that I wanted to share...each day is what we make it.  Unfortunately, the author is unknown.
Here's something that really interested me...the app "PACT".  PACT creates a community of users who actually pay you to stick to your workout and nutrition routine.  You pay PACT if you don't.
What an ingenious way to get you to stick to one of your New Year's Resolutions!  The problem?  Seems they enjoyed taking money more than they enjoyed giving money! *sigh

If you want to increase your IQ up to 7 points, learn to play an instrument.
I played piano when I was a kid...I can't tell the difference.

Sleeping more than 9 hours at a time can damage your immune system.
If that is the case then why is it that everyone tells you to stay in bed and rest when you are sick?  It seems to me it just makes you more sick!

Backache?  Lie on a tennis ball for a massage.
No thanks...I'll go to the spa!

Don't want the kiddos buying a port-a-potty on your phone?
Put it in airplane mode before you hand it off to them to play a game.

Did someone under 3 feet tall use a permanent marker or crayon on your floor or countertop over the holidays?
Toothpaste (not gel) will take that right up...dampen a sponge, add toothpaste and rub away.  If that person is over 3 feet tall, make them do it!

Fun Fact:  Coffee is actually made from a seed, not a bean.  The seed just happens to look like a bean!
Sniff...you can almost smell it, right?!

Unscramble the letters...what's the word?  loonersuit

  1. Love the life hacks you find. Shows your sweet and fun personality too. My granddaughter that is 2 took a Marker to my daughter's light gray and check chairs. I wonder if the tooth paste will work on that. Worth a try. She was tried everything and nothing will get it out. Between my two grand girls they must have 500 washable non toxic markers and the little stinker finds the one marker in the whole house that is permanent marker!!!!
    Kids!!!! Happy New Week.
    Hugs,
    Kris

    1. Kris, I am so glad you are enjoying them and thank you so much! Oh no, that is awful! I don't know, worth a try! Let me know if she tries it and it works or doesn't. LOL...it figures...kids seem to know exactly what to do to make us lose our minds...LOL Hope you are having a great week! Love and hugs!

  2. I love this Benita...I like your humor, it is my kind of humor!
I just read yesterday that people are not getting enough sleep. LOL !!!
As far as the tennis ball goes...there are times my night gown ends up wadded behind my back and believe me, it does not feel like a massage!
And I play the accordion...learned it many moons ago and the only "benefit???" I received was an aching back much like that of lying on a tennis ball, but maybe It improved my IQ because I don't play the accordion anymore!!!
    Hugs sweet friend

    1. Thank you so much Kari! I would much rather laugh…it makes me feel better and I like being able to make other people laugh also…if I can. LOL…I know what you mean about the clothing wadding up around you when you sleep. I saw some cartoon the other day of a chick wearing a tank top before she goes to sleep and then what she looks like the next morning…boobs forced through the armholes…LOL I couldn’t stop laughing! WHAT??!! That is so awesome…honey, that takes special skills to hold that thing…and I bet your back did hurt…those things look so heavy! See, I love learning all these little tidbits! 😊 Love and hugs!!

  3. Oh yes I can smell the coffee! Having a cup now. I wish I could play an instrument. I took a few piano lessons when young girl but didn't hang with it. Wish I had of now! My oldest granddaughter plays piano, guitar, electric guitar and sings. Maybe that is why she is so smart. LOL! Hugs and blessings to you Benita.

    1. I love the smell of coffee, but do not like the taste of it. Much too strong for me and I’m more of a “cold” drink person. I too wish I had stayed with playing the piano…my middle sister stayed with it and plays beautifully! The hubster plays guitar and electric guitar…he keeps explaining to me they are not the same thing…I tell him they are…they both have strings…LOL That is awesome about your granddaughter…so talented! Hope you are having a great week Cindy! Love and hugs!!

  4. We have probably all been through the magic marker bit with young children! Toothpaste is good for lots of things. Think I'll bypass the tennis ball hack. A nice message would be welcome. My granddaughter plays cello and she is very smart. Her mom plays piano, saxophone and clarinet and she is smart. Her dad doesn't play any instruments and he is smart. Go figure... Enjoy your day...colder than a well digger's destination today...

    1. Oh, honey, I know...drives me crazy! I do like that they now have markers that only write on the special paper and nothing else, but I bet kids don't like those because they can't mark up the walls or furniture...LOL I'm with you, I need a great massage!! That is so awesome...I love the sound of a cello, so beautiful! WOW...those are all great instruments...I know you love hearing them play! My youngest used to play drums...couldn't read music but had an "ear" for music...he is mentally challenged. Stay warm...seems here in Texas we are back to having all 4 seasons in a day...LOL Love and hugs!

  5. Benita you are too funny! I've done a few of these. The tennis ball - just made other areas hurt, so pass on that. I played an instrument when I was younger - I'd hate to think that I'm smarter today!!! Although both of my boys play multiple instruments and they are very smart.... I would LOVE to get more than 8 hours of sleep some days - heck, I'd take 7. I love the way coffee smells, bean or seed! Thanks for the tips. Have a great week my friend!

    1. Thank you! I try to bring a little cheer when I can! I cannot imagine the tennis ball...just sounds so painful! I'm with you on the sleep...6 hours seems to be the norm, but I want more...I suppose if I were more on top of my schedule, I could get my desired 8 hours...LOL Me too, but I hate the taste of it! :-) Love and hugs and you too!

    1. Thank you! I have enjoyed sharing these hacks...some are dumb, but some are cute and some are worth trying. Resolution is the word...I don't like that word...I prefer goals...LOL Love and hugs!

  11. Kudos to Penny for figuring out that word. She must play an instrument ;).

I actually have massage balls for my back and use them EVERY day, twice a day. They’re actually just like lacrosse balls, which are probably cheaper but I didn’t know that at the time I bought them. I couldn’t live without them, and tennis balls just wouldn’t cut it for me.

    1. Doreen, you always make me laugh…you are hilarious!!

So are these massage balls on a grid or something or do you just randomly place them and lie on top of them? I don’t know that I’ve seen them, but am going to do some research! Yeah, the tennis ball is not for me either! Love and hugs!

  12. I figured out the scrambled word, but won't put it here in case someone reads my comment:) I always enjoy life hacks...have read some on Pinterest and Facebook. Learned lots of interesting things! Guess my immune system should be OK because I could never sleep 9 hours!!!! I'm happy if I sleep 5!

    1. LOL...you are too funny! I love the life hacks because I do always learn something. It might not be something I can actually use or put into practice, but definitely interesting. I usually sleep about 6, but would love an hour or two more...just not going to happen! Have a great one! Hugs!!

Do you know I'm not a huge coffee drinker and prefer tea - but, there is something good about the smell of coffee isn't there!

    All the best Jan
