Easy Valentine's Day Banner...

I have three little words...TARGET. DOLLAR. SPOT.

I don't know about you guys, but I love this little area of the store.  I always find some cute things for the home or for a craft project...which is where I found my supplies for this craft project.
I am excited to be joining some great bloggers for Ten on the 10th.  This month's craft challenge is being hosted by Carol at Bluesky at Home.

I have been working on expanding my crafting skills, but when I saw these two items...paper hearts and a buffalo check banner...
...I knew that I could create a quick and easy project for Valentine's Day for under $10.00.

I grabbed my items, made a quick purchase, came home and got to work.  I didn't want my enthusiasm over my little treasures to fade...you know, striking while the iron is hot!  I looked in my craft cabinet...okay, looked on my craft shelf...well, okay, looked in my craft basket for the Elmer's glue.  I placed a piece of posterboard down to protect my countertops...I was using glue after all.

I decided on how I wanted to place my hearts on the banner and started gluing.  I knew I didn't want soggy, puffy hearts, so I used a minimal amount of glue on each heart.
I made sure to press each glue-filled heart down firmly on the buffalo check banner.  I wanted to make sure my paper would stick to the material.  After getting each heart attached to the banner, I let it dry for a few hours before hanging it on the fireplace mantel.
Once it was dry, I used two of my gold-colored push pins to hang the banner.  I cannot tell you how proud I am of this banner.
It was easy to make and I like the way it looks on our sweet fireplace mantel.
I try to keep decorations on the mantel simple because I love the look of our fireplace and don't want to cover the vintage wood.
Don't forget to visit all of the other wonderful bloggers listed below!  They each have something great to show you for Valentine's Day!

Enjoy your visits!

    1. Thank you so much Katie! We love that fireplace and I really do not like to put a lot on it. It is made from reclaimed wood from the original state capital building in Austin. And you are so right, everyone loves buffalo check! 😊 It needed the red though! Have a great one! Hugs!

Honey, I am a mud pie freak! Thankfully, I'm the only one in my family! And I love me a pretty black/white buffalo check also! I spend a lot of time at Buc-cee's when we travel because they always have the latest/greatest mud pie stuff in there. They are also having a sale on their website and I was shocked to find out they have a clothing line...I never knew! So glad to be joining you and I love your blog! Hugs!

I was so happy to find that little banner...I love buffalo check and while I don't have a lot of it, I do have a few pillows to tie the rooms together...and here those other people are thinking it is a rug that ties the room together! 21. Love your sweet banner, Benita! <3 Target does have some amazing things for just a dollar each! Pinned a couple of photos yesterday but was off to look at more houses so am back this evening to really read and pin some more. :)

Oh, and I used to have my father's old Brownie camera which I think it shot 12 photos per roll and it was 8mm wide ~ really wide like 2" or 3"x3" per frame! Fun collection found on your Pinterest page. :)

Happy to be an alternate with you on the blog hop,
    Hugs,
    Barb :)

    1. Barbara, thank you so very much! They do and I love so many of them! The hubster and I have so many cameras between us, we love shooting with film. I have an old Yashica and Holga that both shoot 120 film and we both have Graflex cameras that shoot 4x5 film....one sheet at a time! :-) Additionally, we both shoot 35mm as well as digital. I love old cameras and am always on the lookout for them. Thank you again! I'm excited to be joining you ladies for this monthly blog hop! Hugs!
