Life Hacks #7

I hope everyone had a great time celebrating Margarita Day on Friday!  I took a polite sip! :-)
If you've been following me on Instagram (go to the bottom of the page), you've noticed that we have a small remodeling project going on in our upstairs sitting area.  Wait, I just remembered, I've never shown you guys pics of our upstairs.  Well, I'm not going to be able to show you right now because this is a different post.  BUT, I will be showing you those "before" photos next week and will be showing the "after" photos in a couple of weeks.  We still have a few more things to do before we can call this area a "wrap".

Enough about work, on to the mundane, interesting, fun, boring, etc.

For those of you who have Roku, if you have lost the remote or it is has stopped working, download the app to your cell phone and you can control your TV with the app.  This only works if you have wireless internet.
Our remote stopped working so we've been controlling our TV viewing through our cell phones.

If you have friends or family members flying in to visit, type their flight number into Google and you can see exactly where the plane is.
Pretty cool, huh?!

Eating grapes can improve your brain's ability to process new information.
Hmmm, going to have to give this one a try!  I'm skeptical!

This is one I will be trying as well, because this ALWAYS happens...to remove a splinter easily, put wood glue over it and let it dry.  Once the glue is dry, peel it off and the splinter will come right out.
I got queasy just looking at photos of splinters and splinter removal...the hubster always has to dig mine out for me.  Paper cuts and splinters hurt the worst!

Placing your tongue on the roof of your mouth while doing sit-ups will help prevent neck strain.
What's a sit-up? ;-)

Fun Fact:  The number 8 -- the percentage of people who have an extra rib!

And remember, learning from your mistakes is wise.  Learning from others' mistakes is quicker and easier! :-)

Have a great weekend!

  2. We had a polite sip also with friends at Tony Tio’s last night. Lol. Very weak sips I might add. Knew about tracking planes and the tongue trick and I eat grapes in a fruit salad everyday so not sure I can testify to that one way or another. I didn’t know you had an upstairs. Hmmmmmm. Still moving stuff in and around. Ugh! Have a great day.

Bless your heart, that is a daunting task and I don't envy you at all. Please call if you guys need us! Love and hugs to you sweet friend!

    1. I love that splinter trick also. I seem to get a lot of splinters for someone who doesn't handle wood that often. The most recent one was from a basket...and let me tell you how much that hurt! Wish I had known about the glue! I wonder it if changes the muscle focus in the neck area? I don't know... Love and hugs!

  8. The splinter trick.. that should work for thorns too, I get rose, blackberry and raspberry thorns when I am working in the garden, sometimes even thru my gloves!

    1. I am definitely going to give it a try the next time I get a splinter...I get way too many of them. OUCH!!! Definitely give it a try...I hate thorns as much as I do splinters!! Love and hugs!

  9. You can also put tape over a splinter then take it out that way too if they are not too deep. Also, I wonder if the grape theory includes wine.

Margarita Day was last Friday. Like I told Ann, you can celebrate today with Margarita Wednesday! :-) And if you are Jimmy Buffet, it is always Margaritaville, so I think you are good! I can't tell you what a situp is either, so that's one of those to learn by others' mistakes, I suppose. 🤣
