I've Been Everywhere Man...

...I've been everywhere!

We have literally been everywhere the past couple of months - from Calera, AL to Chicago, IL to Cheyenne, WY to Boothbay Harbor, ME to Dallas, TX.  June was the busiest month of travel.  I think we were at home about 4 days prior to this past Sunday.

It is so good to be home and to be sleeping in my own bed for a while.  The house has begged me to clean it and to do a little redecorating.  My empty planters are begging for a few plants.  I broke 3 nails before my appointment yesterday.  Everything is in need of some upkeep!

We are having storms here in Nashville, but they are bringing some cooler temps, so I don't mind.  To celebrate the cooler temps AND to give me some time to get my bearings about me to write another blog post, I'm sharing this post from February.  You remember February don't you?!!?  That month when everyone was wishing for warmer temperatures??!!

This post is a three-fer....colder temps, a recipe and a little decor!

  2. We've been stuck at home due to illness of aged parents and I want nothing more to get out on the road like you did.

    1. I'm so sorry, I know it is a difficult time. I feel that way when I have to stay with my dad while my mom is away.

    1. It is wonderful to travel – it was part business, part fun, part parent illness. We are definitely glad to be back home!! :-)

  4. I need a road trip! I do remember vowing never to complain about the heat. So much for vows.

    1. LOL..we all say that when it is 2 below outside...but then it becomes 102 and we forget what we said. Nashville is supposed to have fun things to do if you want to come on up. We haven't been in town long enough to figure those out, but I hear it's a great place! :-) Temps in the 70s here tomorrow!

    1. LOL…I laugh when I look back at all of them. Those posts were definitely different, but I had no idea what I was doing or where I was going with the blog. I still have no idea what I’m doing or where I’m going, so really, nothing’s changed…LOL. It is just a day-by-day journey. Yep, Hank Williams sings Jambalaya best, that’s for sure! Thanks so much girl! I hope you have a wonderful 4th also!! Big Hugs back at ya!! :>))

  8. I printed the recipe out. I love gumbos and creoles so I know I'd like Jambalaya too.

Welcome home and yes, "my nest is best"!
